Moore Lee playing the fiddle.
I am uploading this for my family and neighbors. This is a recording of my grandfather, Ruffin Moore Lee of McKenzie Alabama playing his fiddle. I would guess this was recorded in the 70s or early 80s.

No real finds but the Law was called
Переглядів 2,3 тис.7 років тому
Boring video alert! Just me trying out doing a bit of creek sifting. Only found a couple broken tips. Mainly just wanted my local freinds to give me some advise on the place. The law was called after someone saw my vehicle but they just called me to see if I was ok.

That's awesome! I guess he is all grown up now. I sure hope he's still hunting artifacts! Good job dad, for raising him right! I found 2 nearly identical Kentucky hornstone quarry blanks one time but didn't realize until recently that 2 was enough to be considered a cache. Guess I'll just have to find another one. 😊

Please show your son the safer way to dig around found artifacts use a sharpened wooded dowl or pointed plastic item don't use your fingers unless you want sliced to the bone from chert razor sharp shards

Those aren’t blanks. Those were ceremonial. Look at them, they’re shaped as Indian chiefs with headdresses.

One lucky boy there. To find a cache of very old Indian artifacts. Might have been a young warrior's cache. Clean wholesome fun. Digging with Dad

Hello from Northeastern Alabama! This music is really wonderful! Your grandfather has a beautiful traditional style. A treasure! I also play old-time fiddle and I'm enjoying listening to these recordings. Thanks for sharing! I attempted to identify the tunes, but there were a few that I couldn't figure out. Any ideas? Here's what I heard: 01 Cacklin’ Hen 00:01 02 Hymn or Song Tune 00:38 03 Bonaparte’s Retreat 01:56 04 Little Brown Jug 03:36 05 Turkey in the Straw 05:01 06 Unnamed Tune 1 06:52 07 Unnamed Tune 2 8:10 08 The Girl I Left Behind Me 09:16

I feel your pain. Cant count the times i put my shovel in the exact senerio as you did, and heard the same crunch. BUT, nice findin the ear. Digg'n aint the easiest way to find, but its worth every minute of it when you're in a good spot. I live in Lauderdale County Alabama, if you're ever up my way, just pm me and we'll get a hunt together..

My gut tells me that if you're finding any other artifacts at that depth, then they obviously didn't bury those blades for future use. They were just stacked on the ground. Everything ends up being buried under dirt eventually.
